How to Prevent Session Expiration in WL3
To prevent session expiration in WorkLink3 (WL3), please follow these general guidelines:
1. Understand the session expiration Mechanism:
- Per Hi-Trust Policy, a user can only be inactive for 15 minutes on a screen. Therefore, all WorkCare applications should automatically log out users after 15 minutes of inactivity.
- If a user doesn’t save their current case or any items, unsaved work will be lost, and the user will need to re-login to WL3 and re-enter the information.
- In WL3, after 13 minutes of user inactivity, a message will pop up on the screen showing how much time is left before the auto log out.

2. Reasons for Session Expiration:
- Being inactive in WL3 for more than 13 minutes.
- Typing for more than 13 minutes in a multi-text field such as the “Assessment” field in the Initial Assessment Accordion without any other activity.
3. Prevent Session Expiration:
- Click on “I’m still working” green button on Session Expiring pop-up to reset the WL3 inactivity Timer
- Save your current case if it is feasible at that moment. Saving a case record or case accordion will reset the timer.
